Dr. Perryman, Other Local Leaders Speak Out Against Gun Violence  (3 Photos)
 

The "Pastors United for Social Empowerment" organized a special service to pray for peace and safety of young people and halt gun violence while holding the local, state and federal governments accountable for their role in preventing such tragedies from occurring in the future.  Bishop J. Douglas Wiley (Pastor/Founder of The Life Center Cathedral, New Orleans, LA) was the guest preacher.  The service, which was held at United Missionary Baptist Church, received media coverage from Toledo News 11, FOX Toledo News 36 and the Toledo Blade Newspaper. 

 

CDF Freedom Schools National Day of Social Action (34 Photos)
In an effort to resolve the crisis of 9.4 million uninsured children in America, CDF Freedom Schools young scholars in 24 states and 61 cities participated in a variety of actions including visiting and writing letters to elected officials, joining together for marches and rallies and leading awareness activities.  Scholars from the Center of Hope Family Services Freedom Schools Program joined forces with other Ohio groups in Cleveland, Ohio and rallied on the steps of First United Methodist Church .
